Acting is not about being someone different. It’s finding the similarity in what is apparently different, then finding myself in there.

Kay Metchie is a Vancouver-based actor, director and writer. She grew up being around sets, often visiting her father as he worked with the crew.

She went to Simon Fraser University where she obtained a degree in Theatre Performance and Communication Studies. Kay loves to see the art that we create as a reflection of the social times that we’re currently living.

After graduating university, Kay drifted around for a bit, trying to figure how she was supposed to adult. After working in various offices, she quit her day job and began working as a Script Supervisor in the Vancouver Film Industry. Here, she rediscovered her love of acting, and after a couple years of reading boxes of scripts and feeding other actors their lines, Kay’s finally taking the plunge and getting back to where her passion lies, in front of the camera.
